Devious Journal Entry

It's one of those rare journal entry things! I tend not to really post here much because I'm usually found on FB and Tumblr.

Anyway, I managed to do something to my back yesterday, so I saw a GP today who spotted straight off that I'm hypermobile and diagnosed a subluxed rib - basically the rib dislocated itself then popped back into alignment. Not the first time I've done this, I suspect, and undoubtedly won't be the last either. based on the acid reflux and other clinical signs he says he thinks I actually have the hypermobile form of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have a couple of friends with EDS who had suggested this to me before, so frankly the diagnosis didn't come as a surprise at all.

There's not much that can be done really, but I have pharmacy-strength diclofenac gel to rub into the affected area that's far stronger than the stuff I could get OTC so it was a worthwhile visit. And at least it's in my notes now.
