Cullen groaned and considered burying his face in his pillow so that the noise would be blocked out. He had no idea what time it was, but he knew that it was still dark and he had been deeply asleep only a few moments ago; for a moment he wondered whether it was simply a misunderstanding, whether it was just a noise in the corridor outside his quarters and no one was trying to drag him cruelly from his bed in the middle of the night.
